Mistakes To Avoid When Buying Essential Oils

Seveda dišijo prijetno, a to so ponavadi dišave sintetičnega izvora, katerega zaradi lepšega prizvoka poimenujejo kar naravno eterično olje.

Posledice uporabe takšnih “naravnih eteričnih olj” so glavobol, slabo počutje in podobno.

What should I look for when buying essential oils?

Did you know that vanilla and coconut essential oils don’t exist? That the use of synthetic aromatized oils can cause you health problems, while natural essential oils do have an actual therapeutic effect?

Nowadays, people have become increasingly aware of the importance of nature and natural products. Whether it’s just a relaxed walk in the woods, the use of organic food or natural cosmetics. Natural essential oils have become a trend in modern natural cosmetics.

But here can things get a little more complicated. Essential oils are becoming more and more available on the market shelves. The price is usually quite suitable for almost any pocket, but are we aware of the fact that natural essential oil, for which we need a huge amount of plant material (flowers, leaves, bark, resin, roots, etc.) can’t cost 1 € or 2 €?

The process of making essential oils takes too much plant material, time and equipment, to get it for just a few euros or dollars.

During the holidays, I gifted my loved ones with organic, local products. Because I’ve spent quite some time in organic stores, I took time to see what they offer us on the shelves. I was surprised that for only 2 € we can get “NATURAL” essential oils – vanilla, coconut, marzipan and other essential oils could be found in these winter times. I also like freshening up the room with essential oils, but when it comes to buying them, I am very careful.

Essential oils such as vanilla, coconut, marzipan, jasmine and the suchlike DON’T EXIST.

At least not natural. The consequences of using such “natural essential oils” are headache, malaise and the like. In this case, people who want to bring something natural into their homes end up experiencing headaches and other ailments.

People who use so-called “natural” essential oils, which are not natural, can after usage face negative effects on the skin and they no longer want to use them.

Buy only essential oils with Latin name

When buying essential oils, we must make sure that the bottle has a Latin name, and suppliers should give us access to the analyzes (in which we see the composition of the essential oil and its function). If not, I would not recommend such an oil and would never use it myself. It is best if the essential oil also contains information about where it comes from or where the plant grew, and which part of the plant was distilled.

As beginners in natural cosmetics, of course, we make mistakes, so we have to know few information before buying and using essential oils.
