Now it is the perfect time for new beginnings and body detox. After festive December, it is time to cleanse your body inside and out. Extra pounds, impurities, pimples, acne are typical problem we face after festive season. For this reason, we decided to share with you some tips on how to help cleanse your body in the most natural way. Let’s start with the skin. The skin is the largest organ in the body, which plays a very important role in protecting us from disease and helping to remove harmful substances from the body. Let’s see how you can cleanse your skin and the body.

#1 EXFOLIATION

Peeling removes dead epidermal cells. The skin is smoother and softer after use, the appearance of acne-prone skin also improves, and the effect will depend on the ingredients we use and the condition of the skin. Scrub can be made at home. It consists of abrasive (salt, sugar, jojoba beads,..) and liquid part (vegetable oil or butter). Scrub can be made from the ingredients that are found in every kitchen. These include: sugar, salt, nuts, ground coffee,… which are used mainly for the body. We usually choose salt, sugar or coffee. On more sensitive facial skin, milder abrasives, such as jojoba beads, which are particularly gentle due to their round shape. Bamboo grains are also suitable for the face. Our recipe for a sweet body scrub is written below.

Recipe for basic body scrub:

-Vegetable cold pressed unrefined oil or butter

-Sugar

-Essential oil

If you are dealing with impure skin or blackheads, a steam bath for the face can have a beneficial effect, as the pores become larger and with the help of steam, it is easier to remove blackheads. Attention, if you’re dealing with serious skin issues, consult a dermatologist or an expert in the field. Before the steam bath, thoroughly clean your face and remove makeup. Then pour water into the disinfected bowl and add the ingredients according to the procedure described below. Place your face close enough to the steaming water to feel it massaging your face, but not so close that your skin feels like it’s burning or you’re having trouble breathing. Wait 10-15 minutes and remove the blackheads with disinfected hands. We do not recommend this procedure for larger pimples, sensitive skin or acne. We usually only remove blackheads and the skin is really fine after this.

Recipe for steam bath for the face:

-Hot water

-Marigold flowers

-Essential oil

-Alcohol for disinfection

# 2 SKIN BRUSHING

Dry brushing is also recommended to maintain youthful skin. We can use a rough glove or a brush with soft bristles. Brushing removes dead skin cells that close pores. Harmful substances are more easily eliminated through open pores. Brushing stimulates blood circulation and regenerates the skin to make it smoother and softer. Caution, damaged skin should not be brushed.

#3 SAVNANJE

We often hear that sauna is supposed to help detoxify the body. Researchers have found that removing harmful substances through sweating is just a myth. Of course, sauna is still recommended for better psychophysical well-being. 😊

#4 CLAY

It is great for removing toxins from the body as it absorbs toxins. It can be used in several ways. Clay is super usable and effective, you can add it to the bath or prepare a clay drink to help detoxify the liver and gastrointestinal tract. At home you can prepare a face mask from clay and water / hydrosol. It will remove impurities and help firm the skin. Green clay is best for removing impurities for normal skin, red clay for oily skin and white clay for sensitive skin. We used kaolin for the mask. white clay.

Recipe for cleansing clay face mask:

-Clay Caolin

-Tea tree hydrosol

-Glycerol

-Green algae

-Tea tree essential oil

#5 BODY HYDRATION

It is very important for our body to drink enough water. You can also add some herbs and lemon juice (without sugar). Water hydrates our body and helps remove toxins. If is possible, drink water from a spring. Water with the addition of lemon juice promotes liver detoxification and helps break down fats. Green tea is also highly recommended, as it stimulates the removing water from the body, and at the same time has many other healing properties.

#6 FASTING

Fasting is a beneficial medicine for everyone. Especially popular is the intermittent fast, which includes a 16-hour fast, e.g. we eat our meal at 4 pm, and the next day in the next morning. During this time, the body starts cleansing toxic substances. Fasting also has an effect on weight loss. Fasting is also recommended prof. dr. Celotno razstrupljanje telesa / 6 načinov za čiščenje telesa

Začetek leta je čas, da svojemu telesu privoščimo nekaj svežega. Ker smo med prazniki vsi kar obilno jedli, se nam to pozna na našem telesu. Tako navznoter kot od zunaj – lahko se kaže z odvečnimi kilogrami, slabim počutjem, mozolji, aknami, itd. Iz tega razloga sva se odločili, da z vami deliva nekaj nasvetov, kako si pomagati pri čiščenju telesa. Seveda na čimbolj naraven način.

Pa začnimo kar pri koži. Koža je največji organ v telesu, ki ima zelo pomembno vlogo, saj nas  zaščiti pred boleznimi in pomaga pri odstranjevanju škodljivih snovi iz telesa. Izpuščaji, mozolji in madeži na koži pogosto govorijo o izločanju škodljivih snovi.

#1 PILING

S pilingom odstranimo odmrle celice povrhnjice. Koža je po uporabi bolj gladka in mehka, izboljša se tudi videz aknaste kože, kakšen bo učinek je odvisno od sestavin, ki jih uporabimo ter stanja kože. Piling si lahko izdelamo sami doma. Sestavljen je iz luščila (abraziva) in tekočega dela (rastlinskega olja ali masla) Luščila ponavadi najdemo v vsaki kuhinji. Med njih spadajo: sladkor, sol, mleti oreški, mleta kava, koruzni in pšenični zdrob, itd., ki se uporabljajo predvsem za telo. Midve po navadi izbereva kar sol, sladkor ali kavo.

Na koži obraza ki je bolj občutljiva, so bolj primerna nežnejša abrazivna sredstva, kot so denimo jojobine kroglice, ki so zaradi okrogle oblike še posebej nežne. Za obraz so primerna tudi bambusova zrnca. Najin receptek za sladki piling za telo je napisan spodaj.

Recept za osnovni piling za telo:

-Rastlinsko hladno stiskano nerafinirano olje ali maslo

-Sladkor

-Eterično olje

Če se spopadate z nečisto kožo ali ogrci, lahko parna kopel za obraz blagodejno vpliva, saj se pore s pomočjo pare razširijo in tako lažje odstranite mozolje in ogrce. Pozor, če gre za hujše oblike se obrnite k dermatologu oz. strokovnjaku za to področje. Pred parno kopeljo, si temeljito očistite obraz ter odstranite ličila. Nato v razkuženo skledo vlijte vodo in dodajte sestavine po postopku, ki je zapisan spodaj. Nato obraz nagnete nad parno kopel in si pokrijete glavo z brisačo. Počakajte 10-15 minut in si z razkuženimi rokami odstranite nečistoče. Tega postopka ne priporočava pri večjih mozoljih, občutljivi koži ali aknah. Midve si na takšen način odstraniva le ogrce in koža je potem res fina.😊

Recept za parno kopel za obraz:

-Vroča voda

-Cvetovi ognjiča

-Eterično olje

-Alkohol za razkuževanje

#2 ŠČETKANJE KOŽE

Za ohranjanje mladostne kože se priporoča tudi suho ščetkanje. Uporabimo lahko grobo rokavico ali krtačo z mehkimi ščetinami.  S ščetkanjem odstranimo odmrle kožne celice, ki zapirajo pore. Skozi odprte pore se škodljive snovi lažje izločijo.  Ščetkanje spoodbuja prekrvavitev ter obnavlja kožo, da ta postane bolj gladka in mehka. Pozor, poškodovane kože ne smemo ščetkati.

#3 SAVNANJE     

Marsikdaj slišimo, da bi naj savnanje pomagalo pri razstrupljanju telesa. Raziskovalci so ugotovili, da je izločanje škodljivih snovi s potenjem samo mit. Študija je bila objavljena v reviji Environment International. Seveda pa se savnanje vseeno priporoča za boljše psihofizično počutje, pa tudi dobro dene. 😊

#4 GLINA

Je odlična za odstranjevanje strupov iz telesa, saj nase veže toksine in strupe. Lahko jo uporabljamo na več načinov. Priporočajo se obkladki iz gline, lahko si jo dodamo v kopel ali si pripravimo glinen napitek, ki nam pomaga pri razstrupljanju jeter in prebavil. Doma si lahko pripravimo masko za obraz iz gline in vode/hidrolata. Nase bo vezala nečistoče, kožo tonira in učvrsti. Za odstranjevanje nečistoč za normalno kožo se najbolj priporoča zelena glina, za mastno kožo rdeča glina, za občutljivo kožo pa bela glina. Midve sva za maskico uporabili kaolin oz. belo glino.

 Recept za čistilno glineno masko za obraz:

-Glina kaolin

-Glicerol

-Hidrolat čajevca

-Eterično olje čajevca

-Zelena alga v prahu

#5 HIDRACIJA TELESA

Zelo pomembno za naše telo je, da pijemo dovolj tekočine. Najbolj se priporoča voda, kateri se lahko doda zelišče ali citrus. Voda naše telo hidrira in pomaga pri odstranjevanju toksinov. Če je le mogoče, pijte vodo iz izvira. Voda z dodatkom limoninega soka spodbuja razstrupljanje jeter in pomaga pri razgradnji maščob. Zelo priporočljiv je tudi zeleni čaj, ki spodbudi izločanje tekočine iz telesa, hkrati pa ima še številne druge zdravilne lastnosti.

#6 POST

Post je blagodejno zdravilo za vsakogar. Še posebej priljubljen je interminetni (prekinitveni) post, ki vključuje 16-urno postenje, npr. svoj obrok pojemo ob 16. uri, naslednji dan pa šele naslednje jutro. V tem času se telo posveti čiščenju strupenih snovi, izboljša pa se lahko tudi odpornost telesa. Postenje vpliva tudi na zmanjšanje teže. Postenje priporoča tudi prim. prof. dr. Marjan Skalicky: “Bistvo današnjega razmišljanja v medicinskih sferah je, da celica, telo rabi mir. Food for corona recovery

Our food and supplements for corona recovery

The new virus that marked the 21st century has been with us for almost two years. We all seem to get used to it and its consequences and we all try to learn to live with it. We both also tested positive for Corona in November and later we built stronger immune system and antibodies. None of us expected such symptoms, as this virus is nothing similar to regular flu we had in the past. Symptoms of covid19 are not only fever, fatigue and headache, but the virus completely take away your energy and makes you tired and dull. Let me list the main symptoms that we experienced during corona: fever, headache, loss of energy, loss of appetite, colds, coughs and worst of all – loss of smell and taste.

Now, when all of this is behind us, we can talk about our symptoms and how we helped each other fight the disease. The fever lasted for about three days, leaving only other symptoms such as sore throat, nausea, feeling dehydrated, sore muscles, loss of smell and taste and loss of appetite. During the illness, we consumed supplements, tea and (later) light food. More detailed information on supplements follows below. Fortunately, we did not have any serious forms of the disease, in which case we would need more intensive medical care.

NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS AND FOODS THAT HELPED US DURING THE DISEASE

FOOD

The first few days you completely lose your appetite (nothing new, right?). We also encountered digestive problems and vomiting. For the next two weeks, we mostly liked vegetable soups, light food, fresh salad (without spices and oil), and later some healthy cereals and legumes. We also regularly consumed ginger, which is known as a natural remedy that helps with various health problems. It is also recommended to add sauerkraut and turnips to your menu, which have a beneficial effect on digestion. Also, we rested a lot as we completely lost our energy.

VITAMIN D
It is no secret that many Slovenians are deficient in vitamin D due to insufficient exposure to the sun, which is the main source of vitamin D. We wrote more about this in one of the previous posts on the blog. Vitamin D increases the levels of anti-inflammatory cells and immune cells. Vitamin D intake prevents the inflammatory storm in the lungs and helps defeat viruses and bacteria.

ZINC

Why did we choose zinc? Because it stimulates the functioning of immune cells. This is evidenced by a number of studies: (1) Individuals with zinc deficiency in the body are more prone to infectious diseases. Foods that contain zinc and are also suitable for vegetarians: soy, sesame, cashews, lentils, peanuts, almonds, chickpeas, hazelnuts, etc.

MAGNESIUM

Many people consume magnesium on a daily basis, which is not surprising, as it has many positive properties for the body. Magnesium contributes to the reduction of fatigue and exhaustion, improves electrolyte balance, energy release in metabolism, nervous system and muscle function, plays a role in protein synthesis, contributes to normal psychological functioning, maintaining healthy bones and healthy teeth, …. PARACETAMOL IN VITAMIN C

During the illness, we took paracetamol (Lekadol with vitamin C) to reduce the temperature, which effectively reduced the fever. We chose paracetamol (brand Lekadol in Slovene) with the addition of vitamin C or ascorbic acid, which contributes to a better immune system and plays an important role in the normal functioning of blood vessels, bones, cartilage, gums, skin and teeth. In addition, vitamin C has an antioxidant effect as it protects cells in the body from oxidative stress, while having a beneficial effect on the functioning of the nervous system and reducing fatigue. We get a lot of vitamin C from fresh juices and smoothies, during the illness we increased our vitamin intake with a supplement of vitamin C powder. We also drank a lot of rosehip tea, which is rich in vitamin C.

PROBIOTICS

According to Chinese medicine, all disease begins in the gut, so we have to give attention to it. We consumed probiotics that affect the functioning of our immune system and prevent the survival and development of harmful bacteria.

OTHER ALTERNATIVES

The ingredients listed above we used during the illness. Of course, there are many other ways and methods that can help, e.g. quercetin, multivitamins, B complex, etc. We are also interested in your experience and how you helped yourself during the corona or if you somehow avoided getting infected with it?

Najina hrana in prehranski dodatki med korono

Nova bolezen, ki je zaznamovala 21. stoletje, je prisotna z nami že slabi dve leti. Zdi se, da se na korono in njene posledice vsi navajamo ter se z njo učimo živeti. Tudi midve sva v mesecu novembru zboleli za korono in s tem postali prebolevnici z močnejšim imunskim sistemom ter s protitelesi. Nobena izmed naju ni pričakovala takšnih simptomov, saj nobena dosedanja bolezen ni bila podobna koroni (kljub temu, da sva o njej veliko brali). Simptomi korone niso le vročina, utrujenost in glavobol, temveč ti covid popolnoma ožame energijo iz telesa. Še Anita, ki je po naravi zelo energična oseba, je obležala skoraj ves teden, medtem, ko jo je Martina odnesla brez hujše vročine. Naj naštejem glavne simptome, ki so naju pestili: vročina, glavobol, izguba energije, izguba apetita, nahod, kašelj in še najhuje od vsega – izguba vonja in okusa.

Sedaj, ko je to za nama, lahko sproščeno govoriva o najinih simptomih in o tem, kako sva si pomagali pri boju z boleznijo. Vročina je trajala nekje tri dni, nato so bili prisotni simptomi, kot so zamašeno grlo, slabost, občutek dehidriranosti, boleče mišice, izguba vonja in okusa ter pomanjkanje apetita. Med boleznijo sva si pomagali z določenimi prehranskimi dopolnili, čajem in (kasneje) z lahko hrano. Podrobnejše informacije o prehranskih dopolnilih sledijo v nadaljevanju. K sreči nisva imeli hujše oblike bolezni, v tem primeru bi potrebovali intenzivnejšo terapijo oz. zdravstveno oskrbo.

PREHRANSKA DOPOLNILA IN ŽIVILA, KI SO NAMA POMAGALA MED BOLEZNIJO

HRANA

Prvih nekaj dni popolnoma izgubiš apetit (nič novega, kajne?). Srečali sva se tudi s prebavnimi težavami in bruhanjem. Tudi naslednja dva tedna, so nama najbolj prijali sveži citrusi, včasih tudi zelenjavne juhe, lahka hrana, sveža solata (brez začimb in olja), kasneje pa tudi težjo hrano, kot so zdrava žita. Redno sva tudi uživali ingver, ki slovi kot naravno zdravilo, ki blaži številne zdravstvene težave. Priporočljivo je uživati tudi stročnice, kislo zelje in repo, ki blagodejno delujejo na prebavo. Med boleznijo sva veliiiko počivali, ker sva res izgubili energijo.

VITAMIN D

Ni skrivnost, da mnogim Slovencem primanjkuje vitamina D zaradi premajhne izpostavljenosti soncu, ki je glavni vir vitamin D. O tem sva zapisali več v eni izmed prejšnjih objav na blogu. Vitamin D poveča naravno odpornost proti okužbam, povišajo se ravni protivnetnih celic in imunskih celic. Uživanje vitamina D zavira vnetno nevihto v pljučih ter pomaga pri premagovanju virusov in bakterij. 

CINK

Zakaj sva se odločili za cink? Ker spodbuja delovanje imunskih celic. To dokazujejo številne študije: (1) Posamezniki, ki imajo pomanjkanje cinka v telesu so bolj dovzetni za nalezljive bolezni. Živila, ki vsebujejo cink in so primerna tudi za vegeterijance: soja, sezam, indijski oreščki, leča, arašidi, mandlji, čičerika, lešniki, itn.

MAGNEZIJ

Mnogi uživajo magnezij vsakodnevno, kar ne preseneča, saj ima številne pozitivne lastnosti za telo. Magnezij prispeva k zmanjševanju utrujenosti in izčrpanosti, k ravnotežju elektrolitov, sproščanju energije pri presnovi, delovanju živčnega sistema in mišic, ima vlogo pri sintezi beljakovin, prispeva k normalnemu psihološkemu delovanju, k ohranjanju zdravih kosti in zdravih zob, ima vlogo pri delitvi celic.(2)

PARACETAMOL IN VITAMIN C

Med boleznijo sva za zbijanje temperature uživali paracetamol (zdravilo Lekadol z vitaminom C), ki je učinkovito zmanjšal vročino. Izbrali sva Lekadol z dodatkom vitamina C ali askorbinsko kislino, ki prispeva k boljšemu imunskemu sistemu in ima pomembno vlogo za normalno delovanje žil, kosti, hrustanca, dlesni, kože in zob. Poleg tega, vitamin C deluje antioksidativno saj celice v telesu ščiti pred oksidativnim stresom, hkrati pa blagodejno vpliva na delovanje živčnega sistema ter zmanjšuje utrujenost. Midve veliko vitamina C pridobiva tudi s svežimi sokovi in smutiji, med boleznijo sva vnos vitamina povečali s prehranskim dodatkom vitamina C v prahu. Spili sva tudi veliko šipkovega čaja, ki je bogat z vitaminom C.

PROBIOTIKI

Po kitajski medicini se vsaka bolezen prične v črevesju, zato ga moramo med boleznijo še dodatno »naorožiti«. Odločili sva se za kuro s probiotiki, ki vplivajo na delovanje našega imunskega sistema in ovirajo preživetje in razvoj škodljivih bakterij.

DRUGE ALTERNATIVE

Midve sva se odločili za zgoraj naštete sestavine, ki sva jih uporabljali med boleznijo. Seveda obstajajo tudi številni drugi načini in metode, ki lahko pomagajo, npr. kvercetin, multivitamini, B kompleks, itn. Zanima naju tudi vaše izkušnje in kako ste si vi pomagali med korono oz. ste se izognili okužbi z njo?

DIY: Natural Chest Balm For Cold & Flu / Protiprehladno mazilo

Dear natureholics, the winter is here and holidays are just around the corner. It’s also the season of stuffy noses, colds and viruses. Are you also wondering how to help yourself or your child in a natural way? In some cases symptoms can also be relieved with aromatherapy. As a student of aromatherapy, I would like to share with you a formulation for our youngest ones to ease the symptoms of flu and cold. Making our natural chest rub balm is so simple, that you can make it from scratch at the comfort of your own home.

Ingredients for 50 g of chest rub ointment:

Almond oil 41.75 g

Shea butter 3 g

Beeswax 5 g

Essential oil thyme chemotype linalool 0.10 g

Atlas cedar essential oil 0.10 g

Lemon essential oil 0.05 g

packaging

Preparation:

-Disinfect the surface, the water resistant bowl, utensils and packaging. We used 70 % alcohol for disinfection.

-Boil the water in the pan, add glass water resistant bowl in the pan. Add almond oil, shea butter and beeswax in a water bath (in a bowl).

-Heat the mixture in a water bath and stir the ingredients until they become liquid.

-Remove from heat, add selected essential oils and mix everything well.

-Before the balm becomes solid, pour it into disinfected container (packaging). Add a label to the container and write the name of the product and the date of manufacture on it.

Use:

When the balm cools, it becomes more solid and can be applied to the chest twice a day if necessary. We mainly apply the balm to the chest area and the back. Use essential oils carefully, only use the ones with the chemotype linalool and not any others, as they differ in their effect. Linalool is milder and is therefore more suitable for child skin.

Thyme essential oil has antibacterial effects, is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antiviral. It has a sedative effect, which means that it is calming. I decided for atlas cedar essential oil because it is used for respiratory problems such as coughing, running nose and lung problems, it also has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It has coniferous fragrance with a simple oriental note. Lemon essential oil is used for respiratory infections, and it has positive affect on our well-being as fresh yellow citrus in a bottle lifts the mood. Lemon note is usually popular among our youngest ones.

Warning! The balm for children is only a supplement and relieves symptoms, but it cannot be used as a medicine and cannot replace medical care. We also recommend inhalation therapy, bath and essential oil evaporator.

NARAVNO PROTIPREHLADNO MAZILO ZA OTROKE

Dragi naravoljubci, temperature so se že spustile pod ničlo, narava se vedno bolj nagiba k počitku. Spet je tu obdobje zamašenih noskov, prehladov in viroz. 🤒 Se morda sprašujete, kako svojemu otroku pomagati po naravni poti?  V nekaterih primerih lahko simptome lajšamo tudi z aromaterapijo. Kot študentka aromaterapije bi z vami rada podelila recept za naše najmlajše, ki jim bo oblažil prehladna obolenja. Izdelava tega protiprehladnega mazila je tako preprosta, da sva prepričani, da ga lahko izdela prav vsak. Torej, kaj potrebujemo?

Recept za 50 g mazila:

Mandljevo olje 41,75 g

Karitejevo maslo 3 g

Čebelji vosek 5 g

Eterično olje timijan kemotip linalool 0,10 g

Eterično olje atlaške cedre 0,10 g

Eterično olje limone 0,05 g

Postopek priprave:

-Razkužimo površino, stekleno posodo, v kateri bomo kuhali, pripomočke ter embalažo. Za dezinfekcijo sva uporabili 70 % alkohol.

-Zavremo vodo v kozici.

-V stekleni posodi zmešamo mandljevo olje, karitejevo maslo in čebelji vosek.

-Mešanico segrejemo nad vodno kopeljo in mešamo dokler ne postane tekoče.

-Odstavimo iz ognja, dodamo izbrana eterična olja in vse skupaj dobro premešamo.

-Ko je zmes še tekoča, jo vlijemo v razkužene embalaže. Na posodico dodamo nalepko ter nanjo zapišemo ime izdelka ter datum izdelave.

Uporaba:

Ko se mazilo ohladi, postane bolj trdne oblike in ga malčku po potrebi namažemo dvakrat na dan. Mažemo predvsem področje prsnega koša in hrbet. Pri tem moramo paziti, da uporabimo kemotipe navedenih eteričnih olj in ne katerih drugih, saj se po svojem delovanju zelo razlikujejo. Linalool je blažji in je zato bolj primeren za otroško kožo.

Eterična olja delujejo terapevtsko in izdelek odišavijo.

Eterično olje timijana ima antibakterijske učinke, je protivnetno, protimikrobno in protivirusno. Učinkuje sedativno, kar pomeni, da pomirja. Eterično olje atlaške cedre sem izbrala, ker se uporablja pri respiratornih težavah, kot so izkašljevanje, odvajanje sluzi iz grla in pljuč, deluje tudi antibakterijsko, protivnetno ter protimikrobno. Vonj ima po iglavcih s poprasto orientalsko noto. Eterično olje limone se uporablja pri respiratornih okužbah, nasploh pa za dobro počutje, saj sveži rumeni citrus v steklenički dvigne razpoloženje. Limonina nota je običajno priljubljena med našimi najmlajšimi.
